ICFM and WATER signed an affiliation agreement, saying that the International Conference on Flood Management (ICFM) is affiliated to Water. ICFM and Water will enjoy the benefits provided by each other, including a discount on the article processing charges and the publishment of books, advertising each other through social media channels and newsletters, etc. More importantly, the agreement facilitates the publication of ICFM8 conference papers in Water!

Water (ISSN 2073-4441; CODEN: WATEGH) is a peer-reviewed open access journal on water science and technology and is published monthly online by MDPI.

In response to the global concern of flood risk, ICFM and Water launched cooperation for adding high quality scientific works to the fields of water science and flood risk management, facilitating the visibility of scientific and technological achievements, and bringing more benefits to practitioners in relevant fields. According to the Agreement,

  • Water will set up Special Issues with ICFM and collect selected papers from these conferences.
  • ICFM will enjoy a discount on the article processing charges for papers from the International Conference on Flood Management to be published in the Special Issue in Water

*The exact disacount will be agreed upon before every conference. And if authors’ institutions are part of the MDPI Institutional Open Access Program and already enjoy a discount, the highese discount will apply. Discounts cannot be cumulated.

Under the theme of "Lowering Risk by Increasing Resilience", 8th International Conference on Flood Management (ICFM8) will be held from August 17 to August 19, 2020 in The University of Iowa, Iowa City, Iowa, U.S. ICFM8 aims at providing a unique opportunity to exchange ideas and experiences on a range of issues that affect flood management, particularly the need to build resilience into future planning. The conference will identify key concerns and significant challenges of the future as currently perceived by researchers, industry, policymakers and other flood management stakeholders.

Main Conference Themes

  • Science & Technology for Flood Risk Management
  • Handling Data and Information for Flood Risk Management
  • Flood Disaster Prevention, Mitigation, and Adaptation
  • Flood Preparedness, Response, and Recovery
  • Flood Decision-making, Policy, and Governance
  • Flood Resilience

The deadline for abstract submission will be September 15, 2019. For submission and registration, please visit www.icfm2020.org or www.icfm.world. If you have any question about ICFM8, please feel free to contact the organizing committee via IIHR-ICFM2020@uiowa.edu
