Seminar on Integrated Water Resources Management for Senior Officials of Asian Countries, one of the seminars sponsored by Ministry of Water Resources of China, is especially held for the participants from Asian countries. The National Research Institute for Rural Electrification, Ministry of Water Resources, People’s Republic of China (NRIRE) will undertake the organization of the seminar.

I. Objectives: The seminar aims to share experience and expertise of water resources management, dam safety management and small hydropower operation and management by means of presentation, field visit and forum discussion. It is expected that the communication and cooperation in the field of integrated water resources management among Asian countries could be further enhanced and promoted.

  1. Duration: 14 Mar.- 27 Mar. 2019 (14 days)

  2. Venue: Hangzhou, Zhejiang, P. R. China

  3. Working Language: English

  4. Programs:
    1. Training courses which will include China’s Practice and Expertise of Water

Resources Management, Dam Safety Management, Small Hydropower Operation and Management, etc.;

2. Field visits to Three Gorges Project and Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute which will be organized for participants to get a better knowledge of water resources management, dam safety management, hydropower operation and management;

3. A forum through which participants from all the participating countries could exchange information on water resources management, dam safety management, small hydropower operation and management in their countries and conduct in-depth discussions on technical cooperation with the technicians and experts arranged by the organizer.

VI. Qualification and Requirements for Participants:

  1. Working in the fields related to the program, either managerial or technical;

  2. Under the age of 60, be healthy, not infectious and fully able for daily life

    activities. Available with the health certificate issued by public hospital or

    approved healthy institution;

  3. Capable of listening, speaking, reading, writing in English;

  4. Willing to obey the local related laws and regulations during the stay in

China;
5. Willing to prepare a report on water resources management, dam safety

management and small hydropower operation and management of their home countries, which will be used to share among participants at the seminar and submit to organizer.

VII. Funds:
1. The Ministry of Water Resources of P. R. China will bear the international

travelling cost and the local expense including training fee, food, accommodation, transportation, and a pocket money of RMB 80 yuan per person per day during the seminar.

VIII. Application and Approval:

  1. Applicants need to fill up the Application Form (Annex 1) and then submit it

    to the organizer;

  2. The organizer will examine the Application Form and inform the enrolled

    candidates by issuing the Admission Notice.
